Notes on disposal of batteries

The following note is directed at those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and who don't resell this in the delivered form (end-user):

Gratuitous withdrawal of batteries
Batteries may not be disposed together with household waste. You are legally obliged to return batteries, so a proper disposal can be ensured. You can return batteries to a municipal collection center or to a local trader. As a distributor of batteries we are also acting to take back batteries, but our take-back obligation is limited on batteries of the type that we carry out or had carried out as new batteries in our assortment. Therefore you can return batteries to us sufficient stamped or hand over it directly in our warehouse at the following address:

HS Systeme Inh. Helmut Schmitt
Jahnstr. 16a
67227 Frankenthal/Germany

Meaning of the battery symbol
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed refuse bin on wheels wheelie bin. This symbol indicates that batteries may not be disposed together with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury, more than 0.002 percent cadmium or more than 0.004 percent lead, under the refuse bin symbol the chemical name of each pollutant is shown - "Cd" for cadmium, "Pb" for lead and "Hg" for mercury.
